Description	Geology themed mural at Griffith Observatory. An elderly man above a number of mountain tops is symbolic of geology. The forms behind him are typical geological stratification. The middle figure, a modern biologist, is looking into a microscope. Below him are several life forms, a plant, a crab, two transparent slides showing spore forms above which is a gallus domesticus on the sixth day. The figure on the right is symbolic of paleontology holding the skull of a saber tooth tiger. Below is the skeleton of a fish. The water impulses at the bottom symbolize the origin of life while above are the ultimate forms of physical life: a man and woman looking into the unknown for an answer.
