Description	Photograph caption dated August 15, 1932 reads, "This picture gives you an idea of how much energy the oarsmen spend during a grueling race. Although exhausted, they still remain fine sportsmen and this shows (Bill) Miller extending congratulations to (Bobby) Pearce, who had defeated him a few minutes earlier in the single sculls championship. These two oarsmen are the greatest among the amateurs of the world. Pearce holds the world's title and has been Olympic champion twice, while Miller is the champion of the United States." The rowing events of the 1932 Olympics took place at the Long Beach Marine Stadium.
