Description	Photograph caption dated July 7, 1982 reads, "Two pedestrians were killed when two vehicles apparently lost control at Ninth and Figueroa Wednesday afternoon." Denise Elizabeth Graffeo, 19, of Brooklyn ran a red light in the Jaguar (right of center) she was driving and collided with a hotel shuttle van. The impact of the crash caused the van to roll on top of one woman who was standing at the intersection, crushing her to death (covered, foreground). Another woman, who was standing next to the first pedestrian, was thrown into the path of the Jaguar, which dragged her about 30 feet (covered, right); one of the deceased women was Edubiges Carrillo, 27, of Whitter. Graffeo was booked at Sybil Brand Institute for Women, where she was charged with vehicular manslaughter and her bail was set at $2,500.
