Historical Data	Ray Bolger was born Raymond Wallace Bulcao on January 10, 1904 in Dorchester, Massachusetts. He was an actor, dancer, singer and comedian who started his career in vaudeville. His unique style of dancing, making his legs look "rubbery" was his trademark. He was noticed by studios and had roles in many films, including The Great Ziegfeld, The Harvey Girls, and Babes in Toyland. He is best known for his role as the scarecrow in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz. In 1949 he won the Tony Award for Best Performance by a leading actor in the musical Where's Charley? Later he starred in a short-lived television sitcom and made frequent guest appearances on other TV shows. He died on January 15, 1987.; Eddie Arcaro and James Basil were prolific horse racing jockeys from the late 1930s to the early 1960s.
