Description	Mary Miles Minter in court after Hilda Desey, a dress shop proprietor, charged that she, Minter, entered her shop at 2980 Wilshire Blvd. and took a $55 tweed dress by force. Miss Minter countered saying that she financed Miss Desey's dress shop and that in taking the dress she was merely getting something in which she had a considerable interest. Deputy District Attorneys refused to issue a complaint for either petty theft of malicious mischief; it was decided that there was no evidence of any malicious intent on the part of Minter. The court denied Desey's suit for $104 against Miss Minter over the dress. Photograph dated July 12, 1934.
