Description	Chart showing the comparative oil production of the United States (left side of graph) and the balance of the world (right side of the graph) for the years 1876-1934. California's oil production is represented by a barrel (bottom left) and 3/4 of its neighboring barrel. In terms of percentage, California accounts for 25% of the national production and 16% of world output. The United States represents 64% of total world production. The chart, sponsored by the Federal Writers' Project, was drawn by D.C. Newmarch. Dated October 1936.
