Description	Former General Motors' South Gate employee, W. McNeal did not qualify to get a $300 Christmas check because his unemployment benefits (of $136/wk) have not run out. McNeal shows his financial condition for the holiday, as he stands across the street of the South Gate former assembly plant, where checks were passed out to those whose benefits have depleted. Photograph dated 1982.
