Description	Strange enough, this scene was taken at Santa Fe Avenue and Compton Boulevard in Compton's downtown business section. And, stranger still, the picture was arranged for by the Chamber of Commerce. It shows President Howard Day of the Chamber with Mayor Monte Snavely and other civic leaders trying their luck at fishing, pointing out that Compton streets are good for something during the rainy season. And they do mean fishing! The officials point out that the entire east side section of the city is without drainage, pending realization of the long-awaited Santa Fe storm-drain project. In the boat, George Quinn, secretary-manager of the chamber; Hal Painter, president-elect of the Jr. Chamber; and E. Pyle, chamber director. Standing (left to right): Howard Day; Mayor Snavely; B.
