Description	The funky wind-up. The Pillsbury Doughboy physique. The crowds flocking to Dodger Stadium. The phenomenon known as Fernando-mania swept through L.A. in 1981, when Valenzuela started 8-0, led the Dodgers to the World Series, and won both the Cy Young and Rookie of the Year awards. In the off-season, he served as the grand marshal of East L.A.'s annual parade. Dated May 15, 1981.
