Historical Data	The concept of the multi-panel mural was created by Don Juan, a.k.a. Johnny D. Gonzalez, in 1970 but it was not realized until 1974. Robert Arenivar (mural design), David Botello (mural design), Joel Suro Olivares (ceramics), and Jose Luis Gonzalez (partner) helped Don Juan complete the project. The First Street Store opened in 1924 and was closed in 2007. When the site was purchased by Alliance College Ready Public Schools, the original structure was demolished but the murals where saved and placed in storage. When the a new structure for Alliance Morgan McKinzie High School was completed, the tiled murals were reinstalled on the new facade.
Description	"Man's Struggle with Technology", one of 17 tiles panels of "The Story of Our Struggle". The series is installed on the First Street Store, an independent department store, at 3648 E. First Street in East Los Angeles, January 1977.
