Description	Interior view of Los Angeles Union Station, looking east through its main hall. Here the building's architectural details: the tiled floors, travertine marble walls, floor-to-ceiling windows, large chandeliers and beamed ceiling are visible. On each side of the image is a shop for travelers. At the itme this photograph was taken, train ridership was at an alltime low and the station saw few people pass through its classic corridors and terminals. Located at 800 N. Alameda Street, Union Station was designed by the father and son team of John Parkinson and Donald B. Parkinson, and opened in May 1939. In 1980 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places, Building #80000811.
