Notes	This collection includes approximately 40,000 photographs by commercial photographer Ralph Morris, who worked in the Los Angeles area from 1939-1981. His advertising and industrial clients included department stores, restaurants, the automobile and petroleum industries as well as business executives. Also included is the Luckhaus Studio collection of architecture, fashion, the movie industry, sports and street scenes, images which Morris obtained in 1939.
Description	View of decorated Los Angeles City Hall at night. Graphics have been added to photograph to depict beams of light coming from the tower cap. Built from 1926-28. This Goodhueesque structure has classical detailing at the base (Greek, main entrance & Romanesque arcades), with a Moderne campanile-like tower influenced by Ziggurat construction ; made of light colored California granite, it was the tallest building in L.A. for many years. It is seen here from the SE corner of S. Spring & Temple Streets. Architects: Associated Architects John C. Austin, John Parkinson & Albert C. Martin.
