Description	Close-up view of the main entrance of Beverly Orthodox Presbyterian Church, located at 345 S. Woods Ave. The church building is painted white with tan trim and a gray roof. The entrance is arched and gated with the words "Beverly Orthodox Presbyterian" above the doorway.; Presbyterianism is predominantly a Christian denomination. The earliest American Presbyterian churches were established in Virginia, New England, Maryland, and Delaware during the 17th century and were mainly of English origin. Portions of the Presbyterian Church in the United States have been separated from the main body, and some parts have reunited several times. The greatest division occurred in 1861 during the American Civil War. The two branches that were created by that division were reunited in 1983 to form the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), which is currently the largest Presbyterian group in this country. In North America, because of past or current doctrinal differences, Presbyterian churches often overlap. Photo dated: February 15, 2004.
