Description	Opening day of the MTA Orange Line at the North Hollywood Metro Red Line Park and Ride, located at 5350 Lankershim Blvd. This photo shows three of the new Orange Line buses, also known as Metro Liners, as they travel along the $329.5 million route, past their Balboa Bl. stop in Encino. Most of the 14-mile route is fenced off, but it still crosses 36 signaled intersections and has 13 scheduled stops on its route. MTA identifies all of its Metro Rail lines by assigning each line a different color. The Orange Line was formerly named San Fernando Metro Rapidway, but the MTA Board of Directors approved the new name on January 22, 2004, and it refers to the many citrus trees that once blanketed the San Fernando Valley. Metro Liner travels between the Warner Center and North Hollywood Metro Red Line subway station in approximately 42 minutes. Photograph dated October 29, 2005.
