Description	Aerial view of the (New) Calvary Catholic Cemetery and Home of Peace Jewish Cemetery located on Whittier Blvd. in East Los Angeles. This is the third location for Calvary, created here in 1896, hence the common use of the adjective "new" when referring to it. The first location for Calvary was near La Placita on Main Street and the second was on North Broadway where Cathedral High School now stands. Calvary, located at 4201 East Whittier Boulevard, is comprised of 136 acres and includes many prominent features, such as the Stations of the Cross, placed at intervals along the main drive, and All Souls Chapel (center). The chapel was constructed in 1902 as a tribute to the Gothic Chapel in Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire England. Home of Peace Jewish Cemetery, located at 4334 Whittier Boulevard, is visible in the foreground on the south side of Whittier Blvd. This site is the successor to the first Jewish cemetery in Los Angeles, founded in 1855 near Chávez Ravine by the Hebrew Benevolent Society. When the cemetery was relocated to East Los Angeles, the remains of 360 people were reinterred here between the years 1902, when the cemetery was founded, and 1910.
