Description	Two men talk on the porch of the ornate Queen Anne style Lordsburg College building in La Verne. In 1891, German Baptist Brethren purchased the former Lordsburg Hotel (shown here) in the community then called Lordsburg and started Lordsburg College. In 1917, the name of the community was changed to La Verne, Calif. and the college to La Verne College. In 1978 La Verne College became the University of La Verne and is located at 1950 3rd Street.
