, a

establishment
operated
as a

hotel
that would
turn
out

producers

technicians
, as
well
as a
continuous
stream
of
idols
of the

place
to be
seen
.
Sadly
, by the
1950s
the
hotel
was
run
down
and
faded
,
becoming
only
a
relic
of its
former
glory
, and in
August
1956
, the
famous
Hollywood
Hotel
was
razed
to
make
way
for a
$10,000,000
development
, with a
12-story
office
building
for the
First
Federal
Savings
&
Loan
Association
of
Hollywood
, a
shopping
center
, and
parking
lots
. In
2001
, the
Hollywood
and
Highland
entertainment
complex
opened
on the
site
of the
former
Hollywood
Hotel.
;
Topped
by a
tower
decorated
with
sculptures
in

niches
and a
