Historical Data	In 1920, Long Beach commissioned W. Horace Austin and his former partner, civil engineer Harvey H. Lochridge, to design a new city hall. The eight story classical building had four domed towers and was completed in 1923. It sustained some damage in the 1933 earthquake and was remodeled by Cecil Schilling and engineer C. D. Walles with Art Deco details in 1933-34.
Description	An aerial view of Long Beach from the Willmore Hotel looking towards the civic center by Lincoln Park. The view shows the back and side of the eight story city hall with its four cupolas. The porticoed entrance, not visible, faces Pacific Avenue. A Richfield gas station, bottom left, is next to houses and apartments that have two vehicles shrouded in the back yard. Among the businesses around the civic center are Savoy Hotel, apartments, rooming houses; department stores, and banks.
