Historical Data	Architect John C. Austin constructed the State Building in 1930. This "high rise" measured 184 feet and had 13 stories. Unfortunately, it was found to be structurally unsafe after a 1971 earthquake, necessitating demolition. Architects Morgan & Walls designed the Title Insurance & Trust Company Building.
Description	Construction area at Broadway and Spring Street, looking north. It is unclear what will be built in this location, but it will neighbor the State Building, Title Insurance & Trust Co., Thorpe Office Building, and Bancroft-Whitney Co. - all visible in the background. The area has been dug out for the foundation and work is well under way. Photograph dated: November 12, 1930.
