Historical Data	"Little Toot", a bright blue and yellow vehicle, is the smallest of the Los Angeles Public Library's fleet of four bookmobiles, which serves 27 schools in the city and the Harbor area nine months out of the year. This vehicle was specifically constructed on a truck body at the cost of $7,000, and weighs 2 1/2 tons. Staffed by 3 librarians and a driver, it carries a variety of approximately 3,000 books catering mostly to children in grades K-8th. These bookmobiles, or "libraries on wheels", brought books mostly to the disadvantaged, low-income areas or the outlying sections of the city where community libraries had not been established. The name "Little Toot" was secured with permission from author Hardie Gramatky.
Description	Numerous school children browse through several shelves full of books from the Los Angeles Public Library's "Little Toot" Bookmobile collection. Two "flaps" expose the bookshelves at the side of the mobile. This bookmobile is parked in the middle of the playground of an unidentified elementary school, as seen by the hopscotch grid painted on the asphalt.
