Description	View of the Lakeland Showboat, or simply the "Showboat", a boat eatery that was mechanically rolled in and out of the water in Lake Elsinore. Sadly, this once-popular hangout where diners and dancers alike could enjoy being on the water, has seen better days and is no longer "in service".; In fact, the Lakeland Showboat wasn't a boat at all. It was actually a ship pier built by the Clevelin Realty Corporation that was dedicated on June 14, 1931 with much hoopla and fanfare, including an air show with 30 aviators. The 200-foot-long, 200 ton pier resembled a ship, complete with portholes and a 100-foot-long, lavishly appointed room on the top deck. It was mounted on wheels that transported easily from the water's edge onto dry land, and to steel rails when repairs were needed; because it was an actual pier, small boats would dock along both sides of it.
