Historical Data	The annual rodeo often drew between 18,000 to 25,000 spectators from all over California and neighboring Western states. Roy Baker, brother of shoe magnate C.H. Baker, built the stadium and sponsored the event from 1927-1930. The area later became the site of the Saugus Speedway, located at 22500 Soledad Canyon Road.
Description	A charro in traditional attire performs rope tricks at the rodeo at Baker Ranch (Saugus Speedway) near Saugus. Other performers on horseback are visible near the pole on the right in the background. Bronco busting, steer bulldogging, trick riding and fancy roping all took place at the rodeo. The annual rodeo held in the 1920s and 1930s often drew between 18,000 to 25,000 spectators from all over California and neighboring Western states. Roy Baker, brother of shoe magnate C.H. Baker, built the stadium and sponsored the event. Photo dated May 6, 1929.
