Description	Photographed from the middle of four-lane Grand Avenue looking south toward 4th Street. Several high-rise buildings can be seen in the background, the most prominent is the PacBell Tower located at 420 S. Grand Avenue. John B. and Donald D. Parkinson built the 448-foot, 17-floor PacBell Tower in 1961, it was known as Pacific Telephone Microwave Tower then. The top of the building is a microwave tower that was used from 1961-1963. Today, it serves 1.3 million phone lines in the 213 area code for foreign long distance calls. Down below, unidentifiable objects can be seen amid shadows.; Similar to image 00068179.
